Event Synopsis
The Case Competition is designed to simulate real-world conditions where we are challenged with difficult problems with limited time to analyze issues and present solutions to senior management. Each Student Team will have only four hours to digest their case, develop solutions, and create a presentation for the Judges.
As a Guest you are welcome to join us for a buffet lunch at 12:30 PM. Team presentations will begin Immediately after lunch. Each Team will have 9 minutes for oral presentation and 5 minutes to respond to Judges' questions. Awards and networking will follow.

Tactical Implementation Strategy
" NetScout Manufacturing is a high mix low volume manufacturing process. The process is designed to be highly flexible to a solutions based product line, where control of high mix top level content is necessary to meet quarterly revenue objectives and cost.
" The organizational structure is based on in-house Build-To-Order Final Assembly Test and fulfillment model. We tightly control key elements of the manufacturing process in-house. Typical lead-time < 10 days ARO. Lead-time at quarter end average < 2 days.
Tour Objectives
The manufacturing strategy has evolved over the past 10 years into a sophisticated and partial outsource arrangement with key suppliers. NetScout balances new product introduction requirements with sustained production. Final assembly and test operations have been tuned to accommodate short cycle times while guaranteeing the quality required by end-customers. A key focus has been in the area of system optimization. The tour will include insights to sourcing decisions, highlight efficiency gains and process improvements developed over the years to ensure relevance and core competencies are preserved. Additionally I will provide commentary on what tradeoffs were considered, problems encountered and overcome, and impact on manufacturing efficiency.
